On the semantics of fucking

Analysis of various ways of expressing a desire to fornicate:

  • I want to fuck you

Suggests power and domination. If I were you, I would wonder that if I want to fuck you, what’s keeping me from wanting to fuck someone else? In this context the speaker has the upper-hand in terms of control of the situation.

  • I want you to fuck me

Suggests submission and lack of participation on the part of one (usually the female). It suggests that the girl just lies there while the guy fucks away at her. She’s just a receptacle for him, and hence entirely replaceable.

  • I want to be fucked by you

Suggests even more submission and lack of participation from the one “being” fucked. This language is highly undesirable to me because it places emphasis on the act of being fucked rather than the people involved. I wonder: If you just want to get fucked, you can just as easily be doing it with someone other than me. Despite the “by you” clause, I find this verbiage exceedingly lacking in the personal element. In fact, the use of “by” makes the procedure sound like a transaction between two impersonal parties. Again, if you just want to be fucked (even if by me), what’s to keep you from wanting to be fucked by the next one that comes around?

A dirty mental image is invoked: You’re lying there and many men are taking turns at you. You’re being fucked by them.

  • I want us to make love

This seems to me the most intimate language for two lovers. It conveys that both partners are equally involved in the act – even though only one is voicing the statement. The crucial word is “us” because we’re talking of an act which by definition requires two people, and so using the plural (inclusive) “us” instead of the singular (exclusive) “you” and “me” immediately makes this statement more attractive than others.
