6:26 PM Testing out Windows Live Writer with this post.
Got a new toy today, the Nikon D300 digital camera, that I can’t wait to start playing with (once the battery charges). It’s good to pull out the old lenses from storage and finally be putting them to good use! Plus I want to shoot RAW and see what I can make out of Photoshop and HDR images.
I would like to make a photoblog – a separate blog other than this one for just my photographs, where I can post them according to various criteria, such as location taken, subject, and time.
8:59 PM I wonder, how do online companies offer so much storage space for free? Where are all these hard drives located? Here’s a list of just a few that I’ve come across in the last couple of days:
- Skydrive – from Microsoft. Offers 5GB storage free
- IDrive – offers 2GB storage free
- eSnips – 5GB storage free
And then there’s Google with their virtually limitless Gmail, which Yahoo! and Microsoft’s Hotmail had to match with their e-mail services in order to compete. How do they afford it?
9:12 PM My collection of lenses right now is the following (from the film days when I had a Nikon F100 35mm camera):
- AF-S Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D
- AF Micro Nikkor 70-180mm f/4.5-5.6D
- AF Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G
This last one I’m even ashamed to admit I own, but apparently it’s not such a bad performer if this review is to be believed. Hopefully I can replace it soon with something respectable.
9:58 PM Just when I receive my camera I find out Nikon’s introduced a new full-frame model, the D700.
