Coetzee has great thoughts. I have great thoughts. Coetzee is a published, Nobel-winning author. I’m not.

He makes some great points throughout the book, which would have been just as deep but probably less entertaining without the narrative framework.

I was happy to see his reverence for two of the authors I admire most, Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. His statements on the English language and politics were enjoyable and agreeable, although I don’t remember any specific ones to comment on right now. All in all it was a very good book.
