Typical movie. Akshay Kumar's a better actor than Salman Khan. I lost interest near the end.

The music and Gulzar's lyrics are the most redeeming quality to the otherwise lame story.

Watched it right after Knocked Up, so it's not a fair evaluation because I didn't watch it properly. (Apparently two movies in a row is too much for the attention to stick with.) But it's an original concept (to me at least), and I like Clive Owen, and he was good in this movie from what I saw of it.

Excellent movie. The relationship between Buddha and Sexy is really unique. It's a new-age depiction of friendship, especially in the Indian context, where a child would never talk to someone old enough to be her grandfather as a friend, in the informal tense.

Tabu is great as usual. Amitabh Bachchan is hilarious, but his style of talking's a bit like Shah Rukh Khan, the way he pauses between lines when talking to someone and has a questioning tone all the time. Overall though, it's really funny and the dialog is really intelligent.

    The music's not bad either.

A.R. Rahman's music is phenomenal. I didn't like it at first but then it rapidly grew on me. It's the only album he gives himself 10/10 on.

Story of a man who's insecure with having a wife much too attractive for him.

Excellent movie. Not really a comedy like I was led to believe. Indian movies are notorious for having characters with no vices, which makes them seem distant and fantasy-like. The characters in this film are well-developed and relatable. I especially noticed that the character of Mithilesh, while celibate till late in life, is not hard to believe in, especially since he's shown to drink and even smoke.

I think Rajpal Yadav is the most talented Indian actor around today.

Very nicely done. Gets a bit slow close to the end but the ending redeems the movie. All actors are excellent, especially Steve Martin. My favorite passage from the film:

As Ray Porter watches Mirabelle walk away, he feels a loss. How's it possible, he thinks, to miss a woman whom he kept at a distance, so that when she was gone he would not miss her?

Only then does he realize how wanting part of her and not all of her had hurt them both, and how he cannot justify his actions except that, well, it was life.

Starts off slowly but overall a very nice movie. Monica Vitti is very beautiful, and the music is nice also.

Not nearly as good as I thought it would be, despite the excellent starcast.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, from the reviews I read. The ending is slightly unsatisfactory but I think the author was going for something sublime.

Sufficiently entertaining; from Scarface director. The "chase" scene in the museum is capturing in its cinematography.

Also from Brian de Palma. Probably scarier when it came out than it seems today.
